Great Birthday (and get well) present for his 10th birthday. I had a feeling he would love it. I had to tell him he could lay on it too and He really liked that. I hide treats when he isn't around and makes a nice surprise.He isn't a destructive guy. He just got one piece of felt. But its his, and I would have to replace it.I want to find something so I can draw the flower closed for a deeper Snuff!
This is such a great way to feed our dog. It would be interesting to try on a cat which we do not have...Our new puppy really enjoys finding his food as it provides great mental stimulation. Wish I had this years before with other dogs over life time of 50+ years with dogs.
My mini schnauzer LOVES this mat. I've had it for less than 24 hours and he's been begging me to refill it every time he finishes it.Great enrichment and puzzle for dogs who need to be kept busy!The weight is very light, so it's easy to set up on a table and then set on the ground. It's soft on his nose so it's not chapping. It's fairly well sized! It's perfect for a medium to small sized dog.
My rescue pup is extremely food motivated weighing in at 55lbs at 6 months. She also has very dexterous paws and her nails are a bit longer & sharper than I'd prefer (feisty with trims). While she doesn't shred all her toys - she has ripped a few stuffies up (RIP cute Yoda toy).I try to be frugal & was a bit concerned I'd be throwing away $35ish dollars on something she'd hate or tear to shreds, but happy to report after a week of daily use it's holding up nicely! Not sure she loves working so hard for treats, but it buys me 5 minutes or so of peace as "nosework" does take energy and focus. I like using a small amount of kibble (maybe 15 small pieces) so she has to work to find it.Im including a photo so you can see it is plenty big for my medium-large puppy with LOTS of hiding spots that require her to use different techniques, so there is a mental stimulation/problem solving element too. The fabric and seams seem well made and durable and it does have a little weight to it. Haven't washed it yet, but based upon the construction I'm thinking hand wash cycle air dry would work.With that being said, I don't leave her unattended with it and I do pick it up when she's done - but the way it folds up compactly with a handle makes storage efficiently & easy! That's also important to me.Overall I definitely feel like it was money well spent and something she'll enjoy (especially on bad weather days when we go outside less). I'm even thinking about getting a smaller one for my senior small dog that hates toys (they don't share) as I think she might enjoy it.
This is a great mat for enrichment. My pup loves this mat so much, I can hide 2, 3 or 6 treats, whatever i want, and let him have fun. I actually used this to get him to love his crate. He only got his mat in the crate, and now he loves the crate!
So much fun for my dog's breakfast! Lots of hiding spots and easy to just scatter among the folds. Quick for me, still fun for the dogs.
It works! My Boston gets tons of sniffing in and gets a nice moderate challenge without getting frustrated. I was worried she might chew the flaps or get kind of rough with it if she did get frustrated, but she understood the task perfectly the first time. Really cute with lots of places to hide kibble/treats.
We are new to snuffle mats! This one is amazing! Our doggo hurt her leg and can't play right now and this is a WONDERFUL way to engage her mind and burn off energy! This is well made, easy to use and frankly, looks like fun! It has lots of hidey places to put her kibble and she seems to LOVE finding each morsel! It would be great as a slow feeder as well. It's well made, light weight but sturdy so it doesn't fold up easily. Our girl loves it and we highly recommend it.
